Description This lapel pin is minted in zinc with an antique brass plated patina for exceptional quality and detail. The obverse features an enameled ribbon the colors, primarily Old Glory Blue field with stripes of golden yellow, scarlet and white. The medal itself is a round disc depicting an eagle, shield, and wreath. The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal is awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States who have been operationally deployed abroad to combat terrorism on/after September 11, 2001, in designated anti-terrorism operations. Requirements include 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days of service in support of specific operations (e.g., OEF, OIF, Noble Eagle). America’s Armed Forces have struck fiercely and ferociously at the enemies of freedom in response to the attacks of September 11, 2001. Established by Executive Order of President George W. Bush in 2003, this medal rewards those who have left their homes and old lives behind — sometimes never to return — to serve at the forefront of a new kind of war. This lapel pin commemorates the heroic resolve of America’s sentinels of liberty to protect the American homeland — at any price and on any shore. This item measures 1 .5 inch x 0.75 inch in size.
